Exclamation Horse Boarding Help Portland OR area

So I am 15 and currently boarding my 8 yr QH mare in a small pasture in a neighborhood in Milwaukie. I want to move because the other woman who has a 34 yr gelding basically doesn't want me there. Plus it has nothing for me to do with my horse there. If I leave the pasture with her he (Miles) will run back and forth and he already has a bad leg so he will run himself until he breaks his leg. I live in NE Portland and need a barn hopefully near a Tri-Met bus/train stop so I can get there maybe with an arena or round pen.. And the pasture I board at is self care $100 a month. My family can only afford $150 a month. I am leaving with my horse this summer (until august) to a friends house. I will be coming back and I'd like a new place before I bring her back. Anyone know of a place or have a place? I can work off some of the board if it's more than $150. Such as stall cleaning.

It's pretty hard to find something in that price range near you or near a bus stop. I boarded at a place in boring that was walking distance from a bus stop but they are only full care starting at $300/mo but have nice facilities and if your horse does well on local pasture grass you'd be good to go (my horses did not so we moved).

I'm not sure where else would work for you with self care, etc. however if you're able to pay $150/mo for self care (assuming you mean you're providing your own feed) then paying $300/mo might be reachable if you don't have to pay for feed.

Check out craigslist as well as and flying changes. Good luck!

Mt Hood Equestrian Center has self care board in that price range, but it looks like the nearest bus route stops 2.5 miles from there. Maybe it'd be possible if you brought a bike with you?
IRaceBarrels and Sweeney Road like this.

I know of some great places but one is $275- where I board. And another is if I remember right around $200 and it's partial care, but they had a great indoor arena. The second one is out by school 91 if you know where that is. I don't know very many close to Portland. Sorry
