Looking for boarding options near Portland, OR

I'm moving from and bringing my two beasties along. First, I am bringing my stallion from Colorado. Ideally I'd like to be able to board him with a gelding buddy as he was raised in a herd/pasture environment. Currently, happy with a stall with a run. He has been boarded without a run. Very well-mannered boy.

After I get settled I'm moving my mare from Ohio. She's been on pasture or "rough" board most of her life and does well and is happy. Would be happy to find a similar situation or somewhere with reliable daily year round LONG turn out. She does NOT do well with short turn out.

Anyone know of anything? I'm not looking to break the bank. Just looking for a place to keep the ponies happy. Would keep them at one or separate facilities.

How close to Portland are you needing? I know a lot of places within an hour. The closer you get to the city the higher the prices and less pasture.

I'm willing to travel. Things aren't nailed down yet. 45-mins to an hour is reasonable.

What is rough board? I've never heard that term before. I'm not aware of many pasture board places around. I know there are some but I've never looked.

There is Sunny Slope in Damascus. They're the closes to Portland. Nice facilities and I know there are stallions there. Some stalls have runs and there is turn out. They're pretty speedy.

Ernst Ranch is really nice but farther out. They have a lot of pasture for turn out. And back up to BLM land. They are in eagle creek. I'm pretty sure they have studs but I might be wrong.

I board in eagle creek as well at Silvery Moon. We have 40x400 individual turn outs. Both mine and Ernst are $350 full care.

If you're looking for cheap, mt hood equestrian center is just out of gresham. $110 for self care. It has a really big indoor arena but turn out is an only the outdoor arena.

All these places have indoor arenas.

There is also double e, stony brook, and burnt spur near my barn. I don't know much about them. These are all East of Portland. I know there are closer barns but I don't know any by name. You can also look in Oregon city. I know there are a lot of horses out there and they might be closer to you.

Hope that helped!

There are a bunch of barns out in the Cornelius & Hillsboro areas as well as Oregon City & Canby. Also check out Washington- East Vancouver, Camas, Battleground, Washougal. I keep my guy at partial care in east Vancouver for $300/mo, and I live in North Portland, it's about a half hour drive. You can find most boarding situations from self care to full from $150-$500/mo. You won't find much pasture board it's too wet for that around here for the most part. Hope this helps.
