that's the problem with tin roofs and why we don't have one!!!
I don't think that I could ever live somewhere they have twisters, the thought terrifies me, I'm used to the UK and moderate weather so even New England has been a huge change for us and our horses. I'm one of these people who likes to have a 'plan' and when I weighed up the options for coping with a twister then being outside seemed as good a place as anywhere could be and better than the chances of being crushed under the roof of a barn.

I personally prefer the horses to be outside during thunder storms. When I was young, my friends barn got struck by lightening and caught fire. They lost all 25 of their horses. It was absolutely devastating. Had they been outside, I doubt all 25 would have gotten hit. They may have lost one, but certainly not all of them. I prefer taking the chance of leaving them outside. I would rather loose one horse, then have the barn catch fire with all of them inside. I don't trust lightening rods at all. My friend had one on her barn, and look what happened.
    Thunderstorms terrify me!
