Thinking about moving...long.
This is the first horse I've ever had to board, so I've never dealt with barn drama.
My barn is small, about 6 horses.
Everyone is very nice.. Including the barn owner.
Here lies my problem:
I have befriended a younger girl. She is great, and helps me so much with training. The other boarders are not there very often so I only see them on rare occasions. About a week ago I was warned about the younger girl by one of the woman there.
I didn't think much of it at first.. Because she is so nice to me.
Well.. I want to push the point that I haven't seen any bad behavior by the young girl at all, except that she doesn't pick up her brushes and ropes and leaves them all over the tables at the barn
Okay so now to the weirder stuff..
I was at the barn last night because my horse has an injury. It's nothing, just a scrape, but there was a lot of blood...it wasn't the barn owner who called it was the girl who texted me the picture of it, she had gone home before I got to the barn. Anyway, when I was there the barn owners husband told me my horse had escaped a couple night earlier. It felt like he was blaming me for leaving a gate open...which I'd didn't, my husband was with me and he watched me lock the gate. He kept complaining how my horse left hoof prints on his lawn...
Next issue, there are 4 pastures on the property. I was told my horse would have a pasture to run in when I was inquiring about the spot. The other day me and girl let our horses out to run in the pasture, after about 10 minutes b.o. Came out and was pissy about the horses in the pasture. She told me: we'll if you want to let him run go put him on the 40acres of woods but don't expect me to catch or feed him." I was confused because I specifically chose that stable because I was told we could use the pasture, not the woods....
I am starting to feel like being friends with her is making the barn owners not like me...
Last issue: someone is doing mischievous things..
Who let my horse out? Why wasn't I told about it until days later? Why wasn't I notified by the barn owner when my horse got hurt? Someone cut off the girls horses tail and mane. And someone broke into the tack room, they didn't take anything but the door was left open one morning, then I was told an ex boarder who is now a heroine addict, prostitue broke in once before!!!
When my husband found out he is pissed at the girl, he thinks she was messing with my horse and that's how he got hurt. I don't think she would do that... But what if.
I feel like maybe I should just move barns... I'm kind of irritated that I wasn't notified that my horse got hurt and he mysteriously got out of a locked gate. It was a lock that a horse cannot open, you need thumbs.
