Well most of you know that we lost our 2011 foal die to LWO which was devastating. I then took to searching for a goal to buy but wasn't finding what I liked in my price range.

Apparently everything happens for a reason! A friend decided to let me do a free breeding lease on her mare! So my stud will be bred to her Arab mare and after confirmed in foal my boy will be gelded.

I'm very excited that I'm 1) getting a half Arab 2) getting a goal from my boy 3) getting something with this mares bloodlines!

Any ideas for foal names? ((yes, I'm THAT person who picks named a year ahead!))

Dam is Gloriouss Toon (daughter of Khartoon Khlassic)
Sire is QTPOCOS Donny Dancer

I want the name to have a "kh" in it like Khartoon and Khemosabi.

Thoughts so far:
Kharnivahl - filly
Khlass Act - colt
Khataclysmic - ?

I really like Khlass Act. It would go good for a filly or colt I think. Other could be....Kharana, Khashmire, Khept secret, Khodak moment, Khoda, Khevah

She's due in 2 weeks with this years foal (by RDA Desperado Kid) which should also be a stunning foal!

As far as her breeding to my stallion, he has so far had 5 foals - all were fillies, all had the frame gene, all were the same base color as their dams, and all had at least one blue eye. I'm hoping that trend continues! I'd love to get a bay overo filly out of this cross!

The owner also has a LOUD sabino mare named Windsong Fantasy (out of Fantasia Vu) who she has considered breeding to Rhocky. I'm trying to convince her to just breed her to Khartoon himself tho :)

I remember reading your entire thread and getting to the end. That must have been devastating. This is a little late but I am very sorry for your loss.
On a brighter note... Congrats on this such exciting news! Hope everything works out well, its such a great match!!! I'll be looking forward to a foaling thread next year :) and lots more pictures of your boy! He is so flashy!

I like both names, but keep in mind.. they may be taken. I'd use datasource (if you plan to register the foal) to see if they are. Khemosabi had over 1000 foals, and something like 13k 2nd generation offspring (and more in the 3rd/4th, etc generations) and A LOT of people liked to use the Kh in the name.

All 3 are available. Kharnivahl & Khataclysmic have never been used & Khlass Act has been used 2 times but with farm letters in front & both were mares.

I've thought and thought and thought and Ive decided not to breed. I know what I want out of a foal and I think it may be a after an less risky option to buy than breed. You were all here with me through the lethal white filly last year and the loss of both my mare and foal the year before. I'm just not sure I can handle risking another loss - its too hard on me.

I've already called the vet and (weather pending) Poco will be gelded March 28th.

Losing one like that would be tough.
Last year I bought a show stallion out of California. He was, quite literally, everything I wanted in my stallion. I had him nine days and he died from a case ulcers that were so bad he could have died at any moment. I came really.close then to selling out then.
Stayed with it and found another awesome guy. His sire is a CA carrier and turns out his dam was as well. He only had a 25% chance of surviving and coming out CA negative - which he did.
But there is always a risk and sometimes it's just too hard.

I hope you find your dream filly soon. :)

Please keep us updated in your adventures :) Its now the time for things to start looking up for you! You never know where life might lead, Im sure when the time comes the perfect little filly will be dropped right under your nose! Now all thats left is developing the patience until then! That would sure be my problem!
