OK, but what about the full teats? She doesn't have a full bag, but her teats are swollen and milk is readily available. SO MANY QUESTIONS, AGGHHH!

then she should be due any day now.....I would be willing to bet she is not breed.....for being this far I would say she should be showing a lot more, even if this is her first.

Like I said before, we had a mare that was milking but not prego nor had she ever had a baby.

Can you take a pic of her teats, so we can check them out? I would say at this point she isn't bred and may be having a false pregnancy, or she has set out to confuse everyone, lol. She just doesn't look bred at all to me.

In some cases, a mare may not bag up until the last minute and some will bag up immediately after foaling. I would still go for an ultrasound just to be sure ;)

With all of this uncertainty, I would be playing it safe and putting her on straw instead of the shavings. I don't know much about foaling, but that one I learned early.

I agree with Franknbeans get the straw out of there it causes a lot of problems with newborns, clean straw is the best.

I agree with you there, but it would be almost pointless with how due she would be at this time.

Maiden mares sometimes do not bag up until the foal hits the ground. Don't be so certian.

Very much agreed.

Now, for my own input. No, she doesn't LOOK bred to my eyes. Yes, a vet came miss a foal, I have proof of that and proof she is pregnant. I would agree with getting pictures of her udder and teats, normally the teats are the last thing to fill before foaling. Can you express anything?

She said she can easily get fluid out of her teats.

I know some mares don't bag up until last minute, but coupled with her not looking bred, if she isn't bagged up she is most likely negative. Anything can happen though! We'll know sometime in the next month if she is bred, she'll have a baby! I think her due date was less than two weeks away yesterday.

If she was bred March 27th, that would put her at just shy of 11 months. She should go by the beginning of March if she is pregnant.
