Subbing to find out what happens - inmho she doesnt seem bred but i know of a mare who didnt produce milk until the foal dropped - however she DID look bred... she was MASSIVE xD I also have experienced Phantom Pregnancy's as the QH mare i used to ride quite alot had alot of these and she too had full teats. :) Good luck with your mare!

just to put my input in there on this one. like others have said some mares will show no signs at all of carrying (ie. baggin up, waxing, vulva coloring etc.) until minutes before foaling. although this mare by the photos doesn't seem to have a large foal belly, doesn't necessarily mean she isn't bred. i would absolutely get a vet out to ultrasound her and find out what is going on. my TB mare last year went 35 days over due so don't count on a sound "due date" as mares don't follow by them. and yes i would for sure get switched to straw just in case she is bred and decides to foal. shavings can be dangerous to a newborn foal, they can inhale them and it can cause many problems. please keep us updated on what you find out about the mare! :)

If you aren't scared, you aren't running fast enough!

No baby :(

We had the vet come out and do an ultrasound, no sign of a baby. The vet admitted that she must have made an error when she palpated her last week and said the uterus was "huge." She apologized and didn't charge for the ultrasound.

Thanks for all your input, really appreciate it.

A bit disappointing, but at least you can sleep better tonight knowing your mare isn't going to catch you by surprise. Will you be breeding her back in a month or two?
