Anyone have grulla babies?

Has anyone had any grulla foals? If so do you have pictures of when they were born and then what they shed out like? Have a blue roan Blue Valentine/ Hancock bred stud and his first foal crop so far one is blue and the other two look grulla but it's hard to tell! Baby color confuses me!

It won't get any easier either. Foal colors are not adult colors and may look similar to other colors. With a blue roan, you can get a solid black as well. As an example, here is a month old foal

And at 1 year of age

This is the sort of colour I would expect a grullo foal to be:

Subbing! I predict there will be many more pictures posted in this very thread of one of my favorites, grullas of all ages LOL

My girl is a grulla now but I believe she was born more of a dun color (at least that's what her breeders told me... but they still thought she was a dun when I purchased her at 2 and she was def. Grulla then). I'll have to see if I can find her "youngster" pictures. I don't have any baby baby pictures of her but I think I have a yearling photo somewhere!

At any rate here's a picture of her as a 3 year old (body clipped)

Technicly, grulla is dun. It just comes on different bases. Black + dun = grulla, chestnut + dun= red dun, etc
