APHA registration question

This may be a stupid question, but I honestly have no clue about registering policies and procedures. I've never planned on breeding and have usually only owned grade horses.
I own a 10 year old paint mare that I bought when she was a weanling. I was given papers to register her, but never got her registered. It wasn't a top priority at the time. Well, now I'm having to sell her and have people asking if she can be registered. I have no idea what happened to the papers I was given. I'd kept them in a folder with other horse related records, and can't seem to find it. Is there any way that I can still get her registered without that original form? I have her pedigree, but that is all I have. I've contacted APHA, but still waiting for a response.
Thanks so much for taking the time to answer my question. I really appreciate it.

No. You have to have the papers signed by the previous owner or the breeder. APHA will have to contact whoever bred her to get duplicate papers. Then sire and dam owner at time of breeding will have to sign off the transfer papers...then send them onto you...to send them onto the new owner.

You will have to have the last owner get duplicate papers and sign them over to you. Without them pedigree or not, you have a grade horse.

It sounds like you were given the breeders report , so you could register her. If you can, call the breeder you bought her from and call APHA. With registrations down, APHA and AQHA had been offering discounts to register older horses. The price usually increases alot after the age of 4. Good luck
