It may depend on the info needed to complete the certificate. I've never received one until the foal is on the ground, then I call the stallion owner and tell them what I had and they send the cert. If it's just a transported semen cert, then it could be sent after the 1st shipment.

Its a breeding certificate to confirm said stallion bred with said mare :)

Ok, I've never received on of those until the foal is on the ground. I think so that if the mare slips the fetus, you can't just send in the cert on a foal by a different mare.....Too many shady folks out there these days.

At least with DNA testing they can stop that happening. Im stunned it ever did tbh!

I make sure my services are paid before the mare even gets off the trailer... basically i dont get my Breeding certificates from ApHC until Spring of the following year.. I have til november to file them and they get them to me usually around march. I get them mailed off to mare owners as soon as they are available to me
