Byalee Briar Foal

My Briar foal is starting to loose his foal coat and finally beginning to reveal his colour. It looks like he's going to be a dark probably liver chestnut. Even though the hair in the various patches where he scraped himself vary from gold to bright red the proper adult coat emerging around his eyes is very dark. Except for the lack of black on his points you could be forgiven for thinking he is going to be bay.
Anyway I couldnt be happier with him (well ok maybe if he'd come out pally or buckskin he would have been 110% of what I'd wished for). He is such a character - that perfect mix of friendly, quietish and gentle with plenty of spirit. Thankfully he didn't inheret his mother's head like his sister did.
First pic is 1 day old, next one is a few days ago at about 7wks old.

It is not enough for a man to know how to ride; he must also know how to fall

Bummed I can't see the photos (darn blocked photos at work...)

But don't be surprised if he lightens up. When foals shed they often are darker, then lighten back up.

Ohhh, he's so adorable! Can't wait to see his coat!

The horse in my avatar is not mine, he belongs to a neighbor down the road.
