can someone help me on trying to guess the color?

Here ar the pics of sire and dam.... she is due to foal in april. My first one! I cannot wait. Sire is leopard appy and dam is bay. I just want to know if someone with more experience can figure out what I may get. I was doing some reading and I am guessing bay appy but I could be totally wrong! Any clue?

I actually asked my aunt if I bred my qh mare with a certain type of stallion if I would get a palomino.she said that you will never know what you will end up with you might be able to take a guess and in a year find out if you were right or not.if I had to take a guess I would guess it would be a bay with a spotted rump like some of the appys I have seen.i looked at ur mare and thought that if my gelding was still a stallion they would have the cutes baby.keep us posted and send pics as soon as it is born so we can find out.can you tell me how to down load pics so I can show you I cannot figure it out.

I think any color will be pretty. I just really wish I knew just for the sake of knowing.

Im sorry I wont be able to help you but someone on here will no. You can generally always no what colour your horse will be due to recessive an d dominant gene so you should be able to find out or narrow it down. But I can't work out all the color genes either

Yeah that stuff confuses the crap out of me... I kinda hope it looks like the sire but I know the chances of that are slim to none.

Is the sire's base color bay? It's hard to tell from the picture. And is the mare really faded, or is she not a true bay?

If both are bay, then you're looking at a very high probability of a bay colt, otherwise chestnut or black. With about a 50% chance of having some sort of Appy pattern.

She is a true bay. Its not a very good pic of her with the sun and everything :P . I think he is more of a chestnut color. I heard that leopards carry a heterozygous gene that causes the foal to not have as much color.
