Now how do you tell the difference between sabino, splash, and frame based on leg markings? Are they all jagged?

Often, it can be impossible to tell. Sabino typically displays more like my gelding's right foreleg - the splashy edges.

This photo is sort of classic splashed white - the lines tend to be sharp, the hind legs almost always showing the 45 degree angle upward angle to the point.

However, frame overos also tend to have the sharp lines, very similair to splashed white, so if you get a minimally marked horse, it can be difficult to tell:

And tobianos TEND to have more "regular" looking leg white that's neither sharp nor splashy (keeping with the soft lines of the breed):

However, as CheyAut pointed out on the Welsh stud, minimally marked tobianos can confuse you! I never would have guessed tobiano based on his moreso jagged back legs!

So really, if ALL you have is white legs, it can be darn near impossible to tell the difference.

I hope God tells her to smash her computer with a sledgehammer.

So what would Flicka be considered? Some white on her feet, bald face. Black otherwise, ermine spots on her feet. Photo on my profile.

Frame doesnt' like leg markings, it tends to make at least one leg solid.
