Drumrunner those bloodlines are pretty good and you would have to look very hard to find a QH without Three Bars in its pedigree.
He looks like what they call a cowboy horse around here.
Not much chrome, maybe a plain colour but can get the job done.
Is he registered with the Foundation QH registry? Shalom

Yeah, I'm not disappointed at all when it comes to Three Bars being in his pedigree, I didn't mean it to seem that way if it did.. I do like a horse with good looks as far as colour and such but to me it's not everything, lol he's my plain little chestnut but I love him none the less.

He's not registered with the FQHR, I've thought about it and want to (if possible) but I haven't looked into it much. It's something that I'll end up doing, even though he's a gelding and an older one at that, I still like having all of that as far as papers and back ground on my horses.. He's the horse that taught me everything, how to fall and get back on, how to win and lose gracefully, just that "First horse" that really shapes you as a rider.. Jeez, I'm getting a little teary eyed thinking about it, I'm not sure what I would have done without the little guy, and when he's gone..Ugh, I don't even want to think about that!

I have a big notebook with all of my horses' registration papers, vet records, all coggins records, pages and pages of back ground info on all of them in page protectors.. You can laugh and say I'm a little strange about it..I have the envelopes that winning money or checks came in.. laugh, I'm so weird, I know!

Thanks! I was very, very happy with their choices in breeding that resulted in Holly. I was really blessed when it came to how I took ownership. Her breeders actually have a stud off their farm competing in cutting pretty successfully right now. His name is Do Rey Diddy.

She isnt much different, though. She likes attention and she's a 1 trainer horse. She is highly loyal to me as her trainer, and I hope she'll be the same for her reining trainer. She bonds only with certain people and is a b*tch to others. Haha

But she's amazingly athletic. She spins on a dime and tracks anything you put in front of her.

    You're welcome!

My sister's name is Holly lol..

Hickory's the same way..Very much a 1 person horse. He tolerates others at times, which is usually just my sister, but other than that he'll let you know what he's not happy and wants nothing to do with it. He likes other people and is a love hound but it's only when others have a treat, or he thinks they have a treat. If he figures out that they don't have a treat he just walks off and stops the "Oh look, I'm so cute..now, give me that cookie." act..

He was bred and trained in Texas for cutting, I was told he did well with it at first but then got aggressive with the cattle. After that they started using him as a sorting horse then he made his way to Georgia for sorting and some cutting..He ended up as a trail horse but just wasn't for it, he needs a job or he gets bored..

Haha! Holly is the same, except she actually can get aggressive with other /people/. My male friend used to tell me how hard she was to catch and how mean she was and that I needed to work with her more and get it out of her, and then would FUME when I'd walk right up to her in the middle of our huge pasture, catch her, and have her working quiet with me all day.

I don't condone her being aggressive with people, but also, he liked to push her buttons and so she'd pin her ears back and act like she'd charge him to make him back off. She's never been aggressive with me in ANY form or fashion.

I also had a lot of fear she'd be too aggressive with cows as she would just about kill a dog if they got in the pasture, but in a year she's softened a lot and has been 100% fine with goats, dogs, and foals, so I feel more confident that she won't cross a line. I'm hoping she'll do a little team penning later in life, but for now, she's going into reining training. Woo!

Sorry. Got your thread off topic. Lol

I think it was the Dandy Doll and Chickasaha Mike that looked so familiar to me and linked yours with mine.

No reason to be sorry! We're still going on about our horses so it's good with me.

Drumrunner I can tell from your post that you are passionate about what you believe in and what you like.
Having the folder is an extension of that.
Its no big deal its just who you are.
The FQHA is growing in popularity and importance here in Texas.
You might want to look into it. Shalom

Thank you, that really means a lot..and says a lot about people in general. I'll definitely look into it, it would be really cool to have him registered with the FQHA, another page in my notebook! :) Then the more I think about it the more I think that it would cause a whole new chapter in my notebook.
