Question donkey/horse??

Is it ok to breed a donkey and a horse if the donkey is the dam?

Isnt there a name for that?? Like jenny and mule or something??? I remember reading about it

Ya but I am just wondering if the donkey has to be the sire or if it can be the dam.

A hinny is a domestic equine hybrid that is the offspring of a male horse and a female donkey (called a jenny).
A mule is the offspring of a male donkey and a female horse
I don't think it matters... I will let someone else help you with that one :)

Hey thanks that answeres my question!! :) thank you!

Yes, it's a hinny; no, it's not desirable. They have a pretty poor reputation as useable animals.

Green Broke
I think they retain most of their physique from the mother. So a Mule is more Horse like. And a Hinny is more Donkey like. Hinny's are undesirable. And more stubborn and smaller like a donkey. While a mule will be a bit better, and more horse like aside from the bray/whinny mixture of noise, ears, and tail.
