Dual Registered..?

I have a dual registered AQHA/Pinto... so will I be able to show him at AQHA shows? Even though he's pinto colored? He would stand out well :)

No.........
How is he duel registered? AQHA doesn't register horses that are colored, the closest AQHA does to registering horses with color is a crop out, one with too much white on the legs or face, and those usually go into the Paint horse.

She may mean APHA rather then AQHA.

Well I haven't picked up his papers yet... I bet the P & Q got lost in translation. I'm sure the former owner meant APHA! Thanks! Now it makes more sense lol

I've heard that APHA shows are VERY political... is that true?

All breed shows are political, and the higher rated you go, the more political they get.

What type of showing do you have in mind with this horse?

It doesn't matter under what breed you show him, Paint or Pinto, they're all very political once you reach a certain level.

If you're trying to make it to Nationals or World, you're going to have to deal with it.

I haven't decided specifically what discipline to use him in.
I don't think he's world/national quality, but we'll see after a few shows.

Yes you can still show him, he may be marked against because of his white (it's supposed to be undesirable, but I don't really know if it will count against him). And yes he can be AQHA, it seems more likely that he'd be either AQHA and APHA, or APHA and Pinto, but no reason he can't be AQHA if he's a crop out, AQHA dropped the white rule, as long as both parents are AQHA the foal will be.
