I've never thought about that...how horse's markings are gentically passed on. No horse seems to have the same exact markings, unless they dont have any at all. It could be that there are so many diffrent ways to mix and match the gene for certain markings that there is no way to figure out the chances of getting a any one of them.

Very interesting question though :)

Never know about the blue eyes, my dark bay Arab/pinto cross mare was bred with a grey QH before I bought her and the baby popped out a bay overo with a big old bald face and two blue eyes. The dam (my mare) has a blaze but is otherwise solid and I'm not sure what daddy looked like but pretty sure he didn't have blue eyes.

My mare is a black and white paint with the "ghost" markings around her black, 2 blue eyes (One with white eyelashes and black eyeliner the other with half black half white eyelashes and black eyeliner) and a medicine hat. It's kindof weird how she's got the white eyelashes on eyeliner. Anywhoo, her momma is a bey quarterhorse and dad is a black tobiano with 2 blue eyes... Not sure where Im going with this but she doesn't resemble either of her parents at all... I love the medicine hat. Heard it's kindof rare. Is it?

God forbid I go to any heaven in which there are no horses.

i dont know anything about genetics...I know with our Black and White stallion was bred to 4 different sorrel mares ( rotated to breed 3 a year) over a course of 5 years. He would produce 3 sorrel babies one year and 3 black and white babies the next year. it rotated perfectly , every other year was black and white. 2 years ago though he produced a white baby. wierd!

i dont know about Medicine hat paints much. there is a guy here that used to breed paints and he had a few on his farm. they are lovely!!

black tobiano with 2 blue eyes.
If the sire had 2 blue eyes he is either carrying splash or frame. Those are the only 2 pinto genes that cause blue eyes. So he would be tobiano/splash or tobiano/frame

Here is a medicine hat filly we had born last year. She is Tobiano/sabino/splash
