On day 360 and many sleepless nights and disappointed mornings my mare finally foaled. Last year she foaled five days early and showed signs early and often to make us think she would again foal early. Around 3:30 my wife heard our mare grumbling and stomping around, she looked out and nothing was going on. At 4:10 my thirteen year old daughter heard my mare also making noise, she snuck out to check on her, seen a big wet area and walked in to tell my wife, they both walked out ten minutes later there was this little colt. No name yet.
This colt I gave to my fourteen year old daughter. He will be her barrel prospect about the time she is ready for collage rodeo, he should be ready to start. I told her about the suggestion on his markings, she is looking at away to work it in. Here is another picture, I hate cell phone pictures, I'll try to get better ones when I get home.
