I think she will be black. I know not all horses are the same, but if you look in my barn @ Chance(grulla) there is a baby picture of her. Also there is a baby pic of my gelding Shawdow(bay) and he was rather light. So unless she turns out a dark bay, I would guess black.

Tell your friend congrats on the baby! She's darling!

True, but dun is often hard to see on bays, especially if it has minimal primitive markings. So its possible the bay sire is actually a bay dun.

I'd say Grulla or Black. Black if the father is truly a bay, Grulla or Black if he's a bay dun.

I would say it is going to shed out Black & will be Breeding Stock Paint for registry.

I have lots of experience with Black & Paints...

I am completely in love with Black & White Paints.

I have had numerous babies born here that have had the same look.

Depending on the climate it may even turn a little brownish as she prepares for the first shed if you are in a hot/sunny location.
