Friend had a black colt - entirely unexpected!

So excited about this, just had to share the news! A good friend of mine bred her very nice Bay Tobiano mare to a very lovely Dunskin Sabino Overo stallion...and they produced a BLACK colt! I haven't gotten to see the pictures yet but....boy talk about a surprise. I was expecting a Buckskin or Dunskin of some sort, the sire is a strong dilute producer.

But that's the 'roll of the dice' with breeding. You can buy exactly what you want, or you can get whatever nature throws at you. No doubt this'll be an amazing performance colt - although they were hoping for a filly - I am just dying here waiting for some pictures. No time to go out and fawn over the newborn, unfortunately!

This is the stallion they bred to: Buckskin Overo. Barlink Macho Man Grandson | Equine.com
Very nice looking boy, though I prefer a smaller butt on my horses.
