Yeah, frozen is great. Barbary stopped breeding 10+ years ago, and had foals last year :)

I would freeze some semen, it keeps indefinetely. Also, another option is to take her to a breeding facility. It can be pricey, but usually, with them constantly monitoring, it takes 1 cycle and you're done.

I think you will be just fine using Dez as a teaser. My mares tease to geldings ALL the time and these are geldings that haven't been studs for 6 years.

Thank you :) It looks like I have many options. The gelding is set for mid-september. Our vets don't have the ability to freeze any of his boys :(...I may do a little more checking as we have large livestock farms in the area that do that I believe..maybe I can work a deal. :)

I am very excited about gelding dez...I already have plans for him to be a 4h project horse for a teenager who rides up here. :) :)

BTW...When I was out of state this spring, they put our mare in with Dez (They believed unsuccessfully), and we have not seen her in heat since...we will have her US when the vet comes to do Dez...we may have one last baby from Dez. This means we will probably wait a couple years to do the AI to the outside stallion, but I am pretty excited for one more baby out of Dez.

Blizzard...this year's colt out of him is HUGE. It appears he will be bigger than both sire and dam! He is already over 12 HH at 3 months, and just keeps growing.
