This is my first ever baby to get to raise! I'm sooo excited and nervous. The mare is not a maiden and her owner has done a lot of foaling as well.
This mare does not belong to me. Her owner is a very close family friend and he keeps his horses on our ranch. We pretty much get to do what we like with them. He has this mare and two 3yr old fillies. One of which will be a full sister to the upcoming foal.
Goldie is an AQHA mare, I think she is 9, gotta dig up her papers to be sure. She was riidable at one point but it's been a couple years since she was ridden. After the foal is weaned we plan on getting her back under saddle. She was bred to a gorgeous chestnut stud, he's a very good ranch horse and thats what we plan to use the foal for.
Also, this foals older sister is proving to be an excellent little filly. She's doing absolutely wonderful under saddle, not spooky and very smart. She's definitely going to make a hell of a horse.
This is Goldie as of today! She is due in April (not sure of the exact date) and I'm thinking she will foal withing the next week or 2.
