Has anyone ever bought in-utero?

So I'm hoping to put a down payment on a unborn foal in a couple of days. I've never actually bought an unborn foal (it's really just a couple of dividing cells right now ) so I was hoping someone could offer some help...?

The foal is Dressage bred, possibly also with a mind suitable for show jumping and trick training (no rearing, mind you). They've had foals out of this pair before and they've been exceptional in temperment and type. And 100% coal black!

This is the sire: Zayin, 16.2hh 4yr Friesian Stallion
In Piaffe, four years old:

As a three year old:

I have NO decent pictures of the dam. She's a true-black Morgan mare, about 14.2hh. She's trick trained and demonstrated but the barn was too dark for my camera to behave properly. Super cute too

Foal will be registered with the Friesian Blood Horse Registry. I figure while it's busy developing I'll be busy with Divo. The lady I got him front recommended a trainer in...Iowa I believe it was, who also worked with their stallion. I'm hoping to train Divo in Driving and Dressage
THEN while the foal is growing up, I can do shows and what not with Divo, in addition to messing around with the lil' colt/filly. Then when he/she is old enough it too will go to a trainer to be schooled in Dressage, then later in Driving, and so on and so forth.

Wait! I'll fix it....

I've never done it, but I say if you like the combination of the two horses and can afford the price, go for it.

Honestly, I like the personality of both the parents and in my opinion, they're conformation is rather good.
The stud isn't 'OMG MARE! OMFG FOOD! OMG OMG OMG' and can actually be handled safely, doesn't fly off the handle at the slightest mention of horse fly or plastic baggie. I was able to see/touch/give him scratches outside of his stall, and was offered the chance to ride him when the weather isn't 110 degrees in the shade.

The mare is also very friendly, easy to handle, and intelligent. She has a lovely build, dainty but not fragile. A very regal mare. Her two previous foals where both Dressage-type horses with the Friesian action and the Morgans large, wide set eyes. In my opinion, a beautiful combination.

So far, I've met two of the studs offspring, a purebred Friesian colt and MorabxFriesian gelding. Both are very friendly and easy to handle (you can climb all over them). They LIKE to be with people and enjoy working with people. They have two more foals (Friesian and PerchonxFriesian) on the way, due next month. I'm really looking forward to when they're on the ground. It'll definitely offer even more insight on what kind of foals he produces, though I like what I see already.

Wait! I'll fix it....

I have sold several that way. Just make sure you get a good contract and make sure everyone is on the same page.

I have bought many horses this way and all have been successful barrel horses. I'd say go for it.
