Herda

So as some of you know we are SLOWLY getting back into breeding horses again!

We used to run a small band of broodmares (3-5) and had one stallion of ranch/rope horses. A couple of years ago we sold all of our horses and this year decided to buy the BEST broodmares that we could afford and breed them to new up and coming western performance stallions. We are not breeding less than mediocre horses and making sure that all horses have conformation, ability, proven performance records/pedigree's and are breed to awesome, up and coming reining stallions!

Anyways since we are trying to make sure we do everything right (since sooo many breeders aren't) we got all of our mares tested for Herda before we breed them this year and...all of them tested N/N!! I am thrilled! All of our mares go back to Herda carriers so it was a little stressful waiting for the results.

Well we didn't breed to our own stallions, we breed to outside stallions. You can look them up online.

We will be breeding the first mare Gunnie (I will post pictures after) to Custom Legend ($230K+ NRHA earnings)

And Sadie (Will post pictures of her after as well) to Spooks Gotta Gun ($72K+ NRHA Earnings, Junior APHA Champion)

I love spooks gotta gun. If I had a quality mare and the cash I would totally breed her to him.

Thanks! I'm pretty excited about both foals! We have one coming this summer as well, but it's not a choice foal (Out of a well breed stallion, but not a very good performance record)

Thanks ShutupJoe, we looked at ALOT of horses before we decided on the mares. Same with stallions...there is so many choices out there it sure wasn't easy.

Thanks Thunderhooves. Yes Legend is a big boy, one of the things I just love about him. We are hoping for a futurity prospect/herd sire out of that cross and I LOVE those big horses! Very excited about the Spooks foal as well, but that baby will probably be for sale, unless it's a filly (then I might show and add it to the broodies)
