Talking HG Esquire+ x Warmblood cross GCA & Sport Horses...Introducing GA E-Magination

Well until today this young lady really did not have any nice photos taken of her (through no fault of her own) and did not even have a name.

Today both getting some decent photos and a name were achieved! So without further ado, let me introduce you to HG Esquire+'s first Warmblood cross (out of L.A. Baltic Sunflower), GA E-Magination. She is pictured here right at 60 hours old.

I was told Thursday night late when she was born that I should name her E-Magination since I had imagined SHE was a HE LOL and call her Ginny. Well we have decided the given name was perfect however we will call her Maggie instead.

Doing a 'size' check on the little lady.

Mimicking Mom and doing her best to work on eating a bit of hay for the first time.

She is sooooo cute! What an adorable facial marking. I think Maggie fits her very well! And boy does she has some long legs! They are already as long as mom! I thought they were born with 80% of the dam's leg length, well, she's born with 100%. LoL.

Thank you guys! We are really pleased with this young lady. She certainly has a personality and does not mind showing it to you. Very very alert yet carefree and curious. Sassy and smart. I think we really are going to enjoy her a lot and are now considering how to proceed with breeding choices for her dam. We surely could go back to a SWB stallion and hope for a filly as a replacement. OR.....we can re-breed her back to Esquire+ with plans to watch Maggie and possibly incorporate her into the breeding program. If we went that direction we would surely have more options with breeding/showing/etc. Lots to think about for sure. And in very little time to make a decision......Will surely have to do a bit more homework and fast...researching is going to be a large part of my schedule the next several weeks.....

But on a lighter note....here are some other pics that Hubby, aka 'Woodie' got yesterday evening:

Whew....it's tough being a newborn!

Taking a spin around the paddock

Still for only a moment......

Showing off a little for her visitors yesterday afternoon and also our neighbors. They were neighbors of the dam's breeder (Gail Hoff) when they all lived in New Jersey. The Fauci's knew Flower's sire very well. They too had been anxiously awaiting the arrival of this HG Esquire+ foal. So much so, they brought a bottle of Champagne to celebrate! YUMMMMM!
