HYPP Paper

Ok, so I am writing a paper on HYPP and I can't really find too many positives about it. I need them to argue the negatives, because it is an argument piece. Can anyone give me some ideas on why the heck people want to keep the gene alive and keep breeding HYPP positive horses?

In a general sense, HYPP horses can have more muscle definition than your average horse even while not being worked. That's the only "positive" I can think of.

I think it has something to do with the muscle mass or definition in the positive horses. That's one of the reasons why it is still so prevalent in halter lines, they covet those nasty big muscles.

Yeah, that is pretty much what I am working on. I will have to have the carry my paper, does anyone know names of winning halter horses that have HYPP now?

Oh, gosh, there's thousands of them.

All 3 of this farm's studs are N/H

Look down for Mr. Ice Te, he's N/H

You can google 'champion halter horses' and go through all the halter horse ranches. It seems to me that nearly every one has at least one N/H stud standing right now and every stud holds at least 1 champion standing.

Wow! That is just crazy people care more about winning than the benefit of the horse.
