I couldn't help it... Ive done it again.

Apparently, after we all watched Dusty for FOREVER and she finally had beautiful baby Evie... Im addicted.
This time I knew what I was getting into though, and luckily I have the history on this girl, and she not a maiden, AND top it all off... shes VERY VERY gentle and broke... Like so broke I would let my 4 year old on her. I bought her from a kid in oklahoma, she was already fat and healthy and VERY pregnant... (I will post pics in a minute and you can tell me how far off you think she is)... he told me she is about a month off (almost 2 weeks ago). Her only downfall is she has no papers. She is bred to his grey stud horse, they head and heel off him and he has the best disposition ever, and he is big and stout with great confirmation. He said he did have papers, but when he bought him the owner was supposed to send them in the mail and they never made it (typical). Anyway, instead of breeding my "grade" mare to another "grade" horse and maybe things not turning out so well next time (as they did with Evie), I went ahead and got Lady. She has had foals before, and all were well and everything went smoothly, (which I know doesnt necassarily mean that will be the case again)... but I guess now I have baby fever.
For everyone that knows baby Evie: She is AWESOME! She is the most affectionate little filly EVER! She loves to be scratched everywhere! Her ears, nose, back, belly, butt.... and she even lets me pick up her feet... and shes only 2 weeks old! When she sees me coming she runs to the fence. She runs and plays chase with my dog. Sometimes she moves like a little reiner... she gets to going so fast, then tucks her butt up under her and slides her back feet... almost sits right down on her little butt to stop, she even gets excited and spins off her back legs! Its the cutest thing Ive ever seen. Anyway. I will shut up about my baby now and post pics of Lady.

I am happy for you but make sure that you don't get in over your head. One baby can be a nuisance, 2 can be a catastrophe LOL. I do have to say however, good on you for buying a preggo mare instead of breeding for another one. Now I am anxious to see the new girl and start the waiting game all over again.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I know... I'm done after this one until these two are weaned. I have my hands full with just one, and I worry myself sick over her... I will need a straight jacket after this one. LOL. I think Im a glutton for punishment

I DO have new pics of Evie... and I am uploading them too :) and a video with her ALL over me! Im still waiting for them to upload.
Lady is not as colorful as Dusty, but she is cute! Right now though you wont be able to tell because she is all spread out and mad lookin...

Indyhorse~ LOL... I think Ive lost my mind... Or maybe I felt "cheated" cause we all sat up for FOREVER waiting on Dusty, and the one night I went to bed... boom, just like everyone warned me... but... at least we have another one to wait on now.

QUESTION. My pics are about to be uploaded... She is sorrel all over with a star, but she has these random little white dots all over her body, under her chin, on her legs, butt, tummy, neck... everywhere... since shes grade and I dont know her parentage... anyone know what this is from???
