    i think i've decided sonya's colour!

    Hey everyone!
I think I have found out what colour Sonya is.
    Wild bay with pangare!

She isn't a bay because she has black up to her fetlocks, then it is silver to her knee's/hocks. She has the pangare on her chest, belly, behind he elbow, and her throat.
I can't post pic because I'm not on my computer, but if you want to take a look just go to my horses.

I am going to get her tested as soon as I find the time too though, just t be sure! It has bugged me since I bought her.

She does look wild bay based on the black being so scanty.

Sometimes on horses with the LP gene (the gene(s) which makes Appaloosa characteristics) the expression of black legs and mane and tail on a black-pointed horse will be suppressed (less black, "lighter" black, etc.) , so she might have the "scanty black" because she has LP-- am I remembering correctly that she has Appaloosa characteristics?

Here is a dun Appaloosa mare I used to own-- see how light/silvery the black points are? Its not from white hair-- her "black" is actually a silvery taupe color. Also the tips of her mane and tail hairs faded to red very quickly in the sun. (She does have some white hairs/roaning over her back and body, and some white starting to grow in her tail that you can see in the photo, but her legs have no white hairs/roaning as of yet.)

Yes, Sonya has striped hooves and a mottled nose, and white sclera. Sonya has LOTS of white/silver/gray in her mane and tail.
Here is a pic of her mane, tail, and legs to show the silver.
