The farm I board at used to be a big breeding farm, Carol (the owner) has cut down a lot on the breeding and is concentrating more now on lessons and boarding, but she still breeds a couple mares a year and takes in preggo mares from outside clients and they foal on the farm.
Well Carol knows how interested I am in breeding, but don't have a ton of experience with it, so she's planning on breeding one of her best mares this year or next year (shes contemplating giving her a year off since she's foaled the past 3 years in a row now) and when she does she's going to put me completely in charge of her care, and the foals once its born!
I'm so excited! The mare is named Lily, she's a 16 year old chesnut Oldenburg mare. She produces big foals! She has a 1 1/2 year old colt on the ground whose already 16.2 hands, and her almost yearling filly is growing like wildfire!
She's going to be bred to a 16.3 hand dappled grey hanovarian stud named Davinci
Heres are some pics of lily! Please tell me what you think of her!!
