What a miracle ... it never ceases to amaze me how a foal comes out of a mare.. you couldn't fold that thing up and cram it back in there if your life depended on it!

    He's beautiful....

    Foal
Thanks I just got home and am going back outside to see him again. I had my vet come out yesterday to geld my colt he was running late but looked Inanna over and told me at least another week LOL. Tricky mares! Guess she heard him and wanted to prove him wrong. Thanks I think he a cutie too.

Better pictures now - not black (looked like a mousy brown in the first one which is the common foal coat color for blacks) but a lovely brown colt. She sure knows how to prove a vet wrong ;)

    Foal
I was pretty sure he was a brown/bay but when you said black I was thinking whoo hoo and going to change his name to Black Beauty cause he has one sock and a big star. But I guess the original name is going to stick.. Hubble after the telescope cause my hubby's hobby is star gazing and his momma name means new moon.

Yeah, I couldn't see his face in the first picture so I thought he looked like this baby:

She is a black, one month old in this picture (born at the end of May last year)

Depending on the agouti status in your mare and the baby daddy, you could have had a black if neither were homozygous agouti
