This is a discussion on Info on my mare's sire- The Last Captive within the Horse Breeding forums, part of the Horse Breeds, Breeding, and Genetics category
I show against him quite often at the AQHA shows actually. He's a pretty neat horse. He had some issues with his testicles, they removed one but then the other had problems and they ended up gelding him. I have a friend that has a horse out of him that does really really well in shows. The last show I was at he was pretty cranky but he looked a little sore. He has a novice that shows him now. He's a pretty guy. He doesnt really look like this anymore, he's a really light almost flea bitten grey. He used to have a website, I don't know if it's still up.
That's very interesting! Would you consider him more of a HUS type horse, than a WP type? My mare doesnt really excel at WP and i'm wondering if we'd do better english.
He is a very successful English sire, both for flat work and over fences. Can't say I have ever heard of any of his offspring doing any western classes except for maybe all-around, but definitely not specializing in western.
He does have a lot of all-arounders but he's an english horse. So are his offspring, at least the ones I see around here. I'm lokoing for a more recent photo.
