input and ideas from breeders required..

Well my little Glorificus (Glory) is now a little over a month old and running a muck as foals do when they discover how big and impressive they are

Now bar from the first few days after Glory's birth, Feather has been a pretty relaxed mare (she's had 15 sprouts before this one so it's no wonder) however today she has been acting extremely out of character. She now wont let Glory wonder off by herself, she'll chase after her with ears pinned and sometimes nipping at Glory until she stops and is by her side again. Poor Glory doesn't know whats going on and both the girls are running themselves ragged which is not good as we have been having temperatures in the 40 C lately

The only thing that has changed today is that another mare and foal have moved in close by, in the paddock that corners onto ours. The horses can see each other but unless they go right into the corner of the paddock they can not touch.

Does anyone have any ideas or experiences that they can share, as this is baffleing me ATM

I have heard of mares stealing other foals.
Feather could just be a bit over protective of glory
As she doesn't know the new mare?

That's pretty much the conclusion that I came to aswell. She's back to normal now and has decided that she has a new buddy next door.

Glory's a lot happier to have her freedom back, so she's running a muck as per usual
