Talking Introducing: Delicia's 60 day pregnancy scan!

My pure bred Hanoverian mare is now 60 days pregnant with colours KWPN graded stallion Amour G! She has been a bit lively and hormonal lately so their is suspicion that she is carrying a colt - we were hoping we might be able to see today.

So off we trundled to the vet clinic - it being a bit warm today (33 degrees centigrade) I was concerned she might sweat up in the box - but nope she was fine. Loaded into the stocks fine but figgited for the entire scan! Oh well, she is really starting to protest about having scans - when she was open she was fine but ever since she has been in foal she is very opinionated.

Still, it was a magical moment (and relief!) to see a very healthy 60 day old foal. Unfortunately although its a little wriggler it was laying in the right position to check the sex, so I guess we will now at birth. :P

I was lucky that I managed to take some pictures and a short video of the scan, I hope you enjoy!

I am one very happy owner!

Thanks for the update! Definitely a wiggle worm. I think some are sensitive to the u/s and find it disturbing from their reactions.

Well if foalie is anything like its mum it will be a wee sensitive soul. God forbid I don't pat Dee first when I come to the barn! I get evils until I acknowledge her Wriggly worm foal :)
