ive decided on a stallion. what do you think?

well after all my ideas of what i wanted and what i didnt, ive settled on an arab daddy. i do so love anglo-arabs so ive decided to go with what i really really want :)

this is jet :) so far he has sired 6 foals to tb mums and the bubs are beautiful. he isnt "perfect" but his temperament is impeccable, he has lovely movement and is throwing strong, sturdy foals. he is looking a little ribby in this pic but he looks much better in real life :) apparently the pic was taken when there was absolutely no feed in the paddocks during the worst of the drought. fortunately it seems the drought is starting to break here now yay :)

this is his most recent foal to a tb

im not going all out for a stunning eventer anymore. ive recently found out due to ongoing back issues that heavy riding is going to be out of the question for me so im going more for a pleasure/pony club type horse. if my back situations are sorted and i possibly can compete at a higher level then i will think about it in the future but for now im being sensible :) also he is slightly smaller than my mare so im more confident being its her first foal :)

OOhhh Aahhh he is beautiful. I have a thing for black horses.
I think an arab is a good choice, I don't know much about them except their endurance ability and great heart. I'm sure you will get a pretty baby from him . :) When do you plan to breed?

What kind of mare do you have and what does she look like? It's important to breed what you like and not what someone else thinks you should breed. It's great to see you are doing your homework. It can take a very long time to pick out a stallion. Since the market is so bad for horses right now it's especially important to do you homework. Disposition should be one of the main things you look for in a stallion. If you like this stallion's disposition, he's passing it on to his foals and you like everything else about him for your mare, go for it.

my mare is a tb

i love arabs and anglo arabs and even though some people didnt think an anglo was a good idea, i dont care :) i have the experience to handle them, even had a couple of full arabs myself so i know what im in for :)

ive searched long and hard for a nice stallion with not just good looks but a great personality and finally found this fella. and it seems he is passing on his lovely temperament to his foals :)

Wow Jazzyrider you have really did your homework! I love the stallion you picked out jazzyrider he so pretty, from the pictures he seems to be making well built foals and has a good temperament to match. As for you mare she is gorgeous and she looks like she has great conformation . I think you will get a very nice well built foal jazzyrider and again you have really done your homework.

Your mare looks nice from what I can see of her. You might get a really good cross. There's some really nice Anglos out there. It seems there's a bad hatred for Arabs and TBs on this board. Check out this stallion http://www.starstruckfarms.com/postexchange.html
He's a prime example of how nice one can turn out. Good luck with your breedin!
