Jingles & possible nursemare needed, Chardon, OH.

This mare is very sick. She just delivered a healthy baby and we may need a nurse mare in Oh. Please remit all ideas. TIA

UPDATE: April 15, mother and baby are both doing very well. Thank you all for your insights, jingles and prayers.

Did the baby get colostrum?

Have you ever bucket fed a baby?

If you can't find a nurse mare, you should probably look into getting some foal-lac or other quality milk replacer, and start feeding. It will also take some of the strain off the mare while she recovers. We've had to bucket feed a few. It is no fun after the third night of sleep deprivation.

Good luck and I hope all goes well!
