The mare I bought back in April is now back to her normal weight, we are still working with digestive issues but at least she has her weight back. This is the last update I am doing seem how she is finished, I thank everyone on this forum that supported my efforts and also gave me the idea of rescueing. Lena has defintely changed my focus on buying instead of breeding. I saved a life, I think that is better then bringing in a life. I've raised a foal before, its not nearly as rewarding as watching the pounds stack up on a very skinny horse.
She looks awesome. Isn't it amazing what food and tlc does to a horse? course we are not talking about the huge vet bills that goes along with this kind of makeover.
congratulations. Been there done that, it sure gives you a warm fuzzy feeling when you know you have done something spectacular.

Yes, the vet bills sure stack up with something like this. Even though she has her weight back we still are working with the vet on her bloated stomach. Though I'm going to agree, it does give you a warm fuzze feeling. It almost makes me cry looking back at her pictures, but the December pictures makes me angry..
What an angel you are! I wish I could rescue, but I just don't have the resources. You did such an amazing job with her, she looks like a totally different horse!
