If this one is the AWR one I would ask about this registry saying that the website did not give you full information and what would be required to register. That would show a genuine interest in breeding and upgrading your mare.

It simply makes you sound more like this is a serious consideration both for breeding and registering/upgrading your mare.

LOL! Actually I didn't think about it. I always consider it "ironic" in this context, but not rude. Ha-ha! I agree "impressed" is much safer word to use.

No it is not. I have decided to go with the other stallion. I still will be contacting AWR to see what I can do. I will also try to register my mare with other places..

    "Hello,

I was searching for a proven Wlesh stallion, when I came across your stud, Rosmel's Scarlet Legacy. I have an unregistered Icelandic cross mare, that I would like to breed in 2011 for a 2012 foal date. She currently works as a ranch horse, but will be showing in local hunter shows this summer.

While browsing through your website, I saw the pictures of your breeding facilities! I'm very impressed, they are beautiful.

I would just like to know more about how you run your breeding business (how you cover mares), and your policies on outside mares, such as my own.

    Thank you,
    [My name]"

How does this sound? Thanks for your help, everyone!!

Sounds great! I'd suggest one more thing.... If there is a name of the owner of the barn, I'd rather go with Dear Ms/Mr Gee then Hello, that also adds more respect to the letter.

One more thing...I read above that you are looking for a way to registar your mare....I would add that... like your not just wanting to breed a completely unregistared mare...makes you sound as though you have more plans in store for her and thus for the foal.

It might also make you look like a better prospect if the stud owner isnt sure on grade mares.

I would add it in like this(I bolded the edit):

I was searching for a proven Wlesh stallion, when I came across your stud, Rosmel's Scarlet Legacy. I have an unregistered Icelandic cross mare, that I would like to breed in 2011 for a 2012 foal date. She currently works as a ranch horse but will be showing in local hunter shows this summer, and I am currently working on finding a registry for her.

A nice simple addition that makes you look better over all...just my personal thought...
