Unhappy Lyric's Last Trail Ride

Well, I went on Lyric's last big trail ride yesterday. It has come to the time where she needs to be put out to pasture with light exercise until next May.
We rode around the Lake and she splashed. I think it was a good last ride-- Atleast I have my two year old to keep me busy----

She's due in may? You can ride regulary up to the last 3 months, we endurance race arabs and thoroughbreds and race them into November, then ride regularly till febuary, at which point they start getting big, so they get kicked out. I believe a reasonably in shape mare has a MUCH easier time foaling.

My arab is due in may, and we just did 12miles, t/canter.

We retired a few that had earned their free time. Thanks for sharing.

Normally we ride ours all the way through as well but she has poor uterine lining which my vet said can easily cause miscarriage or abortion. I just don't want to take any chances... I will keep riding her just not climbing a mountain side or chasing antelope...
