    is my horse pregnant?????

Hello I adopted an Arabian mare she is 15 and she is very big and one side is bigger then the other, sometimes I think I see movement but I am not sure. When they rescued her she was very skinny but her stomach was big they said she was almost completely white when they rescued her now she has alot of red dots on her she is also very sensitive with her stomach area she does not like to be touched there she will in her ears back and her teats look fuller she was running with a mini stallion but im not sure how that would work and there was also another horse that fell to its death trying to get water we don't know if that horse was a stallion or what, she has also been yawning alot and the other day she had alot of sweat on her neck and shoulders when they first got her to the rescue they got her palpated and they said she wasnt but they could be wrong or missed it any thoughts would be great thank you!! :) and also the rescue got her on September 19, 2012 and we adopted her april 2nd she seems to have gotten bigger too.

    Welcome to the forum!

The only way to know for sure if the mare is pg, is to have a vet out to check her. Be sure to let us know what he/she says.

    She's certainly cute!

I'm not a mare-in-foal expert but I have to say, the small pic of her from behind and her stomach is all lop sided makes my eyes open a little wider If I didn't know the story and I saw that pic I'd say she was pregnant.

You're going to get the exact same answer from everybody. There is no way to tell unless you get a vet out, which you should do ASAP so you can start her on the stuff she needs to grow a healthy foal, especially after looking so bad when you got her. She certainly LOOKS to be, but just seeing pictures on a forum should not be what you go by.

And congrats for taking her in and fattening her up - that first pic looked terrible!

she was already fattened up when we adopted her, the third pic is about how she looked when we got her.

by the picture does she look pregnant to you though, we are going to get a vet to check her but we are trying to get her in the trailer first so we can bring her to a friends house because she has a barn there so its easier and safer if she is pregnant

Don't wait.... get the Vet out now and then you can work on moving her if she is indeed pregnant. Pregnant horses need Vet care to ensure the health and safety of both the Mare and the Foal.

we are going to call a vet we have to get her trailered first because a friend is going to keep her at her place because she has a barn and if she is pregnant it will be safer for her to stay there for a little bit.
