my mare has started to bag up!

My mare started bagging up two days ago, I am so excited right now and really hoping it's a filly. Don't know why but I bond better with mares for some reason. Hope it's not two long before she has it, i've heard it can take a few weeks even when she has started bagging. My mare has had a few foals before so i'm hoping that she will be just a few days off as I was told only maiden mares usually bag up a few weeks before not sure how accurate this is. Anyway just wanted to warn you all to expect picture overload soon.

should i or should i not.........

Her bag looks nice and big, though she will probably fill out her teats a good bit more before foaling. I would guesstimate that she is one week away from foaling. But all mares are different and she could progress faster than that. Keep your eye on her for sure!

Lucky you. Right in the middle of horse country. If you live near Appleby, drop into the White Hart Hotel and see Terry, the owner. He breeds some nice cobs himself. Tell him Lizzie from California says hello and we miss hearing from him.

Looking forward to seeing your new baby.
