Wink Name suggestions for 2014 foal

Our mare is bred for a July 2014 foal. I realize we have a way to go but I wanted to ask for suggestions on registered names. The dam is a 2007 APHA Smutty Buckskin model. The sire is a 2007 AQHA homozygous (bay) dun.

Judahs Flashy Cash Paint

Spinnin The Breeze Quarter Horse

Here is the link to color possibilities (both dam and sire are gene tested)-Dam carries the Overo gene -which is why I chose to breed to a solid AQHA stud!

I obviously will not pick a barn name until after I see baby...

can't wait to hear suggestions for registered names.

I agree...I know you are itching with possibilities but don't name him/her until they are born! Not only is it bad luck, but your are likely to change your mind once they are born anyways. The name should fit their personality/circumstance/color/etc which you won't know until the special day Good luck with the pregnancy and we definitely need pictures of sire & dam!!!

I don't think there is anything wrong with having a list to choose from, but the birth is quite a ways in the future. Sire & Dam have cool names to make up one for the foal by using a little something from each-I see many possibilities.

Hope things continue to go smoothly!

I like to wait 'til a baby is born, too. But you can make a list and pick some favorites!

The sensitivity of the internet baffles me.

Nothing wrong with getting a head start on reg. names as sometimes as many as 10 need to be submitted. Basing a name on personality is fine for a barn name but it's up to which the registry accepts. Names should be submitted in descending order.

ok. Here are some pictures of dam and sire.

Our mare (Flashy) is an outstanding little barrel horse. She is super athletic but mellow as they come. My 7 year old niece rides her with no issues. I have more pictures, but in most of them she is being ridden by someone else. I did not want to post those with out asking her.

I personally went and saw over 20 studs before settling on this one. He was a 4hour (one way) drive. He had the height I was looking for, good heavy legs, solid feet, and an easy going (Hollywood dunit) temperament. I Think he complimented the mare quite nicely. color, of course, was a bonus!

Does anyone want to take a guess at what she will have? (colt/filly, color, etc)

Maybe I should change the name of this thread. (LOL)
