Thanks for the well wishes for knothead :) I hope he gets better soon too! It's killing me not being able to advance his training, but lots of ground work and grooming never hurts. Since he's out I rode my old sorrel mare, Jana to my friend's and back today to de-stress(about 5 miles round trip) I forgot how nice it is to relax on an old dead head lol!
Apache, foals are lots of fun! My favorite stage...but then comes the yearling stage, my least fave!
From what I have seen they do seem to be a lot of fun. My instructor has a filly foal at her place (couple of months old). She is palomino (dam-chestnut, sire-cremello?). Its funny to watch her going psycho around the paddock and she is very fun and cheeky to play with.
I have a friend who has a paint yearling as well he is big. I wouldn't know what to do with myself during that stage lol. They show him in hand though. While they wait for to be ready to be broken in.
Nice colt! Look for grey hairs around his eyes and nose. They'll pop out in a few days. My colt came out a beautiful chestnut, just like his daddy and within a few days started popping out grey hairs, just like his mommy. Lol
