New colt, Barney!

So this thread was mainly created to discuss Barney's color, I thought you guys would enjoy seeing some photos here. In all the photos, which were taken on the same day, Barney is almost two months old. I have no pictures of mare or foal prior to this.

Barney is my best friends'/neighbors' horse, Nadsam, the proud mama, is a pretty buckskin tobaino reg. AQH, from reputable barrel racing bloodlines. They own and bred both the mare and baby. They do have plans for this horse, and plan to keep him untill he is a yearling, and enter him in halter shows. They have no interest in keeping a stallion, and having already shown what a handful he can be, they are going to geld him.

What color do you think he is?

Well I'm on my tiny phone screen, but looks like a definite shedding palomino.

Sire is gorgeous.

But how? Both the parents are black based, and palomino is chestnut. Right?

I think the parents *could* be red carriers, which would result in possible palomino in a foal.

But he defiantly looks like a palomino to me! He's an adorable colt. :)

He is a spazz. He can get a little crazy hyper sometimes. My friend didn't believe me when I told her that Stella's filly was more of a fireball than him!
