Opinions on breeding an older mare

She's 19, in good health, not maiden - has had 4 foals.
She's registered APHA.
Very skeptically considering breeding. I probably won't, but is she too old? Open to opinions but experience is better. :)
Disclaimer- I realize there are strong opinions about breeding, and I agree with you. This is not something being taken lightly, and I'll reiterate that odds are that I won't breed her. Thanks!

Since she's not a maiden, that's a plus but 19 is still up there. I'd be very hesitant to try it without full backing from a really good vet.

Always remember that feeling of looking at a big, open country over the ears of a good horse, seeing a new trail unwind ahead of you, and that ever-spectacular view from the top of the ridge!!! Follow my training blog: http://robertsontraining.blogspot.com/

I've known healthy mares foal without problems into their early 20s.
