    She is a buffalo-look-alike. But she's cute.

Here is our second baby born this morning. It is a little colt. Chestnut, lots of white, and a neck that goes on for miles.

Here is the first of several pictures that I am in the process of uploading.

    Oh dear, cute cute babies.

Isn't he something. Thank you guys so much for the compliments!

Okay here are the rest of the pictures I got of the little boy. His mother is just enamored. She is a baby stealer, and you can really see the contentment in her eyes over having her own. I haven't been up to meet the colt yet, because it is not time. I gave the mare a pat, took a few pictures and she went on her way. I'll see about his personality in a few days. Best to just leave them be until they are ready. He's a big boy.

She touched him every chance she could.

And here is my little bay girl today. She is a sweetie, but a scamp. She already is independent and ventures "Far" away from momma.

No more for a few more weeks. I think the first foal(for us) by our new stallion is due next. We are very excited.

    Congrats on the babies

Good timing Dave. I was just about to bring this topic back up. As I am overdue for new pictures ad

It is the year of the fillies. That is for sure.

Here is the Widebeest/Sable Antelope/Buffalo now. She hasn't gotten any prettier, but she does carry her thick neck alright. And her attitude is great. She neighs at me when she sees me and comes right up. I do like her a lot for all her uglieness. Who knows what she is going to look like when she is older and grows into herself.

Her likenesses. Lol All in good fun.
http://gastrologica.com/bison.jpg (I need to get her a Viking hat)

She and the Colt are good buds.

And then there is the coltie. He was a snitty, almost hateful thing for a while. You walk up to the mare and he would kick at you. One day I was in the barn, and he was at the gate scratching his butt on the gate, so I went over and started scratching his itcy rump, and he even let me dust him. Today, he came right up to me for more scratches. "Hey, I remember your nails." Surprised the heck out of me.

These are older pictures of him. But these are cute. He is going through a god-awful, ugly growing stage right now. His barrel is as thick as the yearlings', he has a butt like a QH, and he is about six shades of chestnut and very blotchy.

And guess what! I have two new girls I need to introduce you to. One is a couple weeks old now, but the other was born this morning. I'll get thier pictures up shortly.
