Well, Patch is a bit fatter this month than she was last month, and she's healthy and doing good. She's where I would expect her to be for five-to-six months along. I've been around pregnant mares quite a bit and she looks like she fits the general 'idea' for so many months... so that's good.
I figured I could post pictures so yall could see for yourselves.
Even though this was not a planned pregnancy, and the mare doesn't belong to me and her owner doesn't care about vetting her or anything (the only thing she cares about is me NOT giving Patch the shot to make her abort...), I am trying my best to keep a good eye on her and all.
So, here's the mare... Patch is a Racking Horse and is about 13 or 14 years old, I think. She's about 15 or 15.1 hands tall and is roughly five-to-six months pregnant (she was bred back around January, so should foal sometime late November/early December, I think).
And here's the sire, my 4 year old Quarterhorse stallion, Jaxxon. He's roughly 15 hands tall and is super relaxed and calm, so hopefully the foal will inherit his mindset rather than the mare's (Patch is flighty, skittish, and a nervous horse)
