Pedigree question am I reading it correctly?

Hi there! I was just checking out Sammy's pedigree looking for hints about who bred him so I might get baby pictures, and Man O War is about 9 generations down the line. I know it's no big deal, but I want to brag about my baby's greatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreatgreat granddaddy to my friends

So just to make sure he really is his great*8 grandpa:

All I did was follow the lines of his sire and dam, and Man O War pops up as the greatgreatgreat grandsire of Sam's greatgreatgreat grandsire, Lucky Straw. Sam is Docs Luckylynx Chance.

I know it's a ridiculous question, but the more I think about it the more my brain mushes. :p

Yes, you are!! But I would use the Doc Bar reference instead. 9th generation is .195% blood.

We had a grandson of Docs Lynx up here for several years. He was a freaking awesome stud with a great mind.

Falcor, thanks for those links! Scribbles was a handsome guy -- lots of pretty horses in Sam's family. No wonder my boy is such a looker ;)

You are very welcome! I have been researching bloodlines of my kids, and have kind of become obsessed in learning all I can.
