Registering foal APHA. USA

I just bought an APHA registered mare. When I got her I was told it was a possibility the mare was bred and the lady told me she had turned in papers to APHA and she got the breeders certificate back. She didnt hand these papers to me when I bought the mare. I just found out that the mare in fact was bred and is 8 months pregnant, which is consistant with when the lady had her exposed to the stud. I was wondering if there's anyway I can register this foal with not having those papers because they were already turned into the association.
Thanks in advance

Talk to APHA to clearify that they were even sent to them if this is the case. They will be able to answer what you need to do. There might be another person on here who may have a better answer.

Unless you are the registered owner of the mare you cannot register the foal with the APHA. Not sure if you are or not. Other than than your best bet is to talk to the APHA.

Not 110% sure on that part, but I believe that you need the breeding certificate and what not in order to register the foal. The APHA can tell you for sure tomorrow.

If she did submit her on the stallion breeding report. It will be on file & she would have to release the breeders certificate/ foal application to you.Either by paper application or on-line. If you try on line registering of foal it will tell you if the you need it,it may show up released you can go about registering your foal without contacting her.
