Safe Choice feed?

HI! Has anyone heard anything bad about Safe Choice. I had an experienced breeder tell me that I should feed my weaned foal Safe Choice and I just want to double check. Im still researching what to feed. Thanks for the advice!

My friend is using Safe Choice for her mare, and she seems to like it. However, my vet recommended Omolene 300 for my filly, and once she's a yearling to switch to Omolene 200.

I love Safe choice and have used it on multiple horses, i'm trying to find a feed store close to my new house that carries it. Its very good for keeping weight on horses and a nice shiney coat!

That was one of the top contenders when I picked a new feed. I ended up with nutrena life design prime. I'm not sure I would put a weanling on it, my foal nibbles (actually more like gobbles, now) on her mom's nutrena, but once she's weaned she's going on a complete feed made for growing foals.

I would definitely talk to your vet.

I use safe choice for my mare, and she loves it. Its a good grain, its a "safe choice" lol. I don't see any problem feeding to a weanling.

Yes it is safe I used it and have used it in the past I recommend it

We use Safe Choice for all our mares, and over the last year it has replaced Life Design Prime as the most popular Nutrena feed around here.

I use nutrena safe choice for all my horses, and I love it. You might want to look around and see if nutrena has something specifically designed for yearlings and under though.

I just saw Safe Choice today and am doing some research for my Draft/TB.

The lady at the store highly recommended it. So I am considering a change.

We feed it to our herd. I like it as it can be fed in the amount necessary to maintain the horse but will not make them 'hot'.

We do feed our foals/weanlings Nutrena Youth.
