Searching For Foals...

I am the proud owner of a Holsteiner mare. When I bought her I was told that she had had two foals in her lifetime. Being the curious soul that I am, I'd love to find out more about my pony's babies. I've tried using the AHHA site to no avail. Eventually I'll probably just have to get in contact with their office, but in the mean time does anyone have any ideas on how to find her babies?

Here's what I know about her.

She was bred in Washington by a Karen Thomas. After looking around a little I found a Fox Fire Farm owned by a Karen Reid that specializes in Holsteiners.

She is out of Caesar by a Corriente mare.

She's 17, and I Know for a fact that the foals had to be at least 4+ years ago.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd love to hear them.
Thanks!

Have you tried looking her up on allbreedpedigree.com? You can type in her registered name and there is an option in the tool bar to look up offspring. It may not work if no one in putted any info, so hopefully someone put your mares name on the site and added her offspring too.

Cool site, thanks! Alas she's not on there, but at least her sire is. :)

No idea. With the Arabian database, you can research anything so long as you know the horses registered names - from owners to offspring to show records, but I have no idea if you guys have something similiar.

I've been looking, but the AHHA website doesn't seem to have anything like that.

Maybe give them a call? You might have more luck that way maybe, if they don't have a setup for their website.

I'll probably end up doing that. I'm an antisocial lurker, but my curiosity will eventually overtake my shyness. :)

If you can find the registered names of the foals then a google search can often have suprising results. I found the name of my mare's offspring and google came up with an article that discussed the youngster's recent wins in the pacing world!
